Jaclyn O’Laughlin is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer. She has used those skills at a variety of newspapers and publications in Virginia and Washington D.C., while also earning her master’s degree in multimedia journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She has worked as the lead videographer and photographer for national associations in Washington D.C., and previously worked as a photojournalist and reporter for an international news organization covering stories that ranged in focus from foreign affairs to general U.S. news. Jaclyn has also worked for weekly newspapers in Virginia as both a reporter and photographer, covering numerous beats such as education, courts, spot news, crime, and sports. She has been honored with Virginia Press Association Awards for her writing.
In addition, she also shoots weddings and events with a photojournalistic approach-she enjoys capturing “the moment” of every occasion.
She also loves to do travel photography, which has taken her to 25 countries and 46 states in the U.S. Jaclyn’s focus recently has been on taking pictures of doors in every city she visits. She sells her door and travel photographs on her Etsy site.
